As an educational researcher, my research is focused on the overarching theme of cognitive and motivational outcomes from technology-rich learning environments, including online learning contexts. Within this overarching theme, I have produced scholarly work around three unique sub-themes: (a) impact of technology-rich design contexts on students’ cognitive and motivational skills, (b) supporting presence in online teaching, and (c) policy ecology surrounding the use of technology in schools. Research around these issues has led to service and teaching efforts, connecting the three areas of my work as an academic.
